Affiliate Competition Day 1 cont.

Banner

I have been working on this affiliate competition project most of the day. Since my previous post I have rewritten 10 of the plr articles which I will submit to an article directory.

While searching with the free wordtracker tool for more related keywords I found a very well targeted keyword that gets almost 300 searches a day and has very little competition. The pages that come up on the first page of Google when I use the keyword all have page ranks of less than 2. So if I do this right I should be able to get on the first page of Google soon.

Checking the number of competing pages in Google gives you some good information. Just look to the top right in the blue bar to get a total of pages returned. Then have a look at the sites on the first page closely. What page rank do they have? What type of site is it and how is the keyword phrase used?

I built another free blogger blog using the exact keyword phrase as the title. So there are now two free blogs with a couple of posts and some banner and text ads for related products. I find really good free blogger templates at finalsense.com and eblogtemplates.com Both these sites are completely free to use and have some really good, professional templates. div>

Search engines like blogs and websites that are updated regularly. To help with that I went to some article marketing sites and got the code for an RSS feed of articles on the product topic. I placed this code on my blog in one of the widgets and it will keep updating it with fresh content.
There are many article sites but I just use a couple that have given me the best results:

They are all free to use and you can submit articles and also use articles om your sites with an RSS feed. isnare also has a paid submission which I used once and it got very good results. The traffic to my sites is mainly from articles using bum marketing methods.

After building the 2 blogs I decided it was worth getting the domain name to put a sales page on. I use 1&1 for my domain registration and web hosting. This cost me $6.99. I tried a few others when during my /Internet marketing adventures' but I found them confusing and not very helpful. 1&1 is only $10 a month and the customer service has been great.

Both blogs now have the keyword linked and pointing back to the website address.

The next step is to build a sales page. Then I will submit articles, work on building back links and getting the site listed in free directories. Really this is just bum marketing but I thought I'd try and explain it as I go.

Total Project Cost: $21
