New Challenge: Earn a Full Time Online Income in 12 Months

I have set myself a new goal and have a new blog to track my progress:

Why a new goal? Well I've had a lot of sickness over the last few months and I've been told to slow down in my business. I cut back the number of days I'm working and I need to develop alternate, residual income streams.

I am working with an IM guru who is mentoring me to help me reach this goal. I have no doubt I'll do it! So why not stop by and follow my progress.

Back On Track

I's a long time since I posted here, mainly because this year I have been sidetracked by my own illness and also my Dad's poor health. So there has not been a lot of time for online work. So what's happened since my last post? Well the membership site did not go ahead. It was very apparent that I would not have the time needed to maintain once Dad got sick, so the material is written, but will probably be turned into a different product.

I did get my own online consulting site set up though, and that has resulted in business coming to me, both online and offline. So it was worth the few hours effort and has paid dividends already.

My niche sites have just kept going along without any attention from me at all. They still bring in several hundred dollars every month. I have got rid of a few as I am streamlining what I do online now.

The best result from setting up my online consulting site is that I am now exchanging some writing work for being mentored by a well known internet marketer. I will also have a small share of the profits on a project I am writing for and a wonderful opportunity to learn about internet marketing from someone who has succeeded. It's exciting and I'll be sharing my progress here.

Making money online in 2009!

Well I didn't end up moving my blog as I planned, I just got too busy with my offline work and have not had time to do a lot online at since quitting my job. So the move will have to wait a bit longer.

My niche sites are chugging along and with very little attention. I had a good month in December, just over $400. In 2009 I have some very definite plans to develop my online income into something substantial. It means that I need to be a bit ruthless and ditch projects that take up a lot of time but with little return.

I also decided to invest last months profits into some coaching by a well known internet marketer. He's already helped me with my initial ideas and has laid out a plan to make them profitable ASAP. I am really excited about the possibilities! (maybe I will still get that mortgage paid off in 5 years!).
My plans for January 2009:
  • sell off the low profit niche sites so I can concentrate on just a few

  • create two new information products (e-book, audio series)

  • set up two membership sites

  • set up online consulting site for my offline business

I will try and post my progress weekly and track my expenses and income each month.

The biggest challenge for me is time management. I can spend a lot of time online and busy, but not actually getting anything productive done. I am easily distracted and that is what I have to get control of so I can just write the content and get it up and selling.

Here's to a profitable and prosperous 2009 online!

$174 Affiliate Income This Month.

I've have now rebuilt my old site that has been a consistent money earner for some time. This was the first niche site I built and it was quite a challenge at the time! I'm a bit sentimental about it.

So far this month I have made $124 in affiliate sales from this site even though I had it offline for about a week to rebuild it. It earned more when it had adsense on it but considering that I've done no work on since I set it up a year ago I can't complain. The articles I wrote and submitted to ezine articles is the only traffic it has, and it gets consistent traffic every month.

So this week I have rebuilt that site on a wordpress blog. Thanks to Amy's step by step instructions at The Niche Blogger wordpress is no longer the daunting problem it used to be for me. I could never really get the hang of it before but I'm becoming a convert fast! It is proving a much more efficient way of building sites than what I used to do in the past. I plan on moving this site over to wordpress in the near future.

Progress:

Project 1
Consulting for online clients is on hold for now as I am just too busy at work. I may return to this a bit later.

Project 2
I am writing articles for article packs. I will try and write one pack a week till I have enough to publish the site.

Project 3
Selling my information product via my revamped site is basically ready to go I just need to set up the download and payment information. I hope to complete this by next weekend.

Project 4
No new work on the membership site projects.

Project 5
I am in the process of setting up my own article directory. I stumbled across a brilliant domain name for articles in an area that I work in all the time so I grabbed it. I just need to work out the best way to monetise the article site without using adsense.

So I'm plodding along with my making money online ventures when I get some spare time,

Is Amy Bass Crazy?

Last night I joined The Niche Blogger and it is fantastic! Amy Bass has done a great job of simplifying the whole process of niche blogging. She explains things at a very basic level and patiently answers all those newbie questions. I can really recommend this, especially if you are new to earning money online. But the price was not what I expected...

Is Amy Bass Crazy?

She is charging less than $10 a month for The Niche Blogger!

I joined lots of memberships sites when I first started online and wasted lots of money. Most were overpriced (some $79 a month!) and not very patient with beginners problems and questions. Why Amy is charging such a low price is a mystery to a lot of people, but her site is going to help a lot of people get started earning income online!

Amy's site takes you one step at a time through the process of setting up niche blogs that are designed to earn income. I only recommend products and services that I have used myself on this blog and I can truthfully recommend this if you are just starting out.

I am not at all technical when it comes to computers. Since I joined The Niche Blogger last night I have easily set up four word press blogs on old domains just by following Amy's instructions in using fantastico. Those blogs are now ready for me to start adding posts and income streams to this afternoon. I've never had much luck with wordpress before.

Is Any Bass crazy? No, not at all. She's a hard working stay at home mum of 4 who has really applied herself to learning internet marketing over the last year. She's making money online and sharing what she knows. And now we get to benefit from her hard work.

Thanks Amy!

Plodding along

I've been flat out this week working in the offline world. But I still plodded along with my online income projects. This weeks progress:

Project 2:
I have finished building the site.
Two article packs are completed.

Project 3:
Auto responder series for the first e-report finished
Free sign up report completed
Squeeze page built (to collect email addresses)
Sales page completed
Sales letter page completed

I am still in the process of transferring my sites over to hostgator. The next thing I need to do is write the content for my membership site. I already have the domain name, I bought it a long time ago. I also have a membership site script ready to use so this weeks task is writing articles!

 More detail later!
